Hi, I’m contacting you because I want to make a homebrew tribute USB. I’m collecting as many content creators as possible. I also want to include a profile for each one, with a few details, such as their logo, avatar, name, work completed, projects, etc., so you can see who’s behind their creations.

That profile, along with any material you allow me to upload, will be placed on a USB drive. This will act as a database of creators and their creations, and will be updated as I connect with new people.

The USB I’m thinking of creating will be one of those rubber-type USBs, shaped like a Spectrum computer, something that looks really nice. The idea is that those who contribute material, and if they want to buy one or more, will get it at cost price, and those who just want to buy one, it will cost a little more.

The idea is that if enough are sold, enough to recover the initial investment, the profits that the rest of the USBs could generate will be distributed among the people who have contributed material to the project, via transfer, PayPal, or however possible, even if possible, that the USB will be free. Obviously, you can buy more than one, but only one of them can be free.

It’s not necessary or mandatory to buy the USB, only if you like it or want it.

If you’re interested in this project, you can contact me at this email, flopping@gmail.com. If you have any questions or concerns, let me know and I’ll answer them. Do you think the idea is a good one? Would you like to participate in the project? Let me know. Best regards.

Juan.

Hi Juan, thanks for the proposal. TBH, I don't like the idea of putting in a single cauldron for sale all the homebrew productions when they are already available for free or, in some cases, on sale elsewhere. Possibly, I would prefer some physical releases on cassette, organized by single author or maybe by genre or theme. Also, in my case, some releases are currently on sale on cassette, which are collector's items today. Thanks again, but I'll pass.

Ciao Luca,

Hi Luca,

The idea is more to create a database of game creators. The games, as you say, are free and can be downloaded without any problems. The idea is to bring game creators together in one place. It would be like a database. Each creator would have a file with some information, nothing personal or confidential, just so users know who’s behind their creations. This isn’t about making a USB drive full of games, but something more, and that it can be updated as more creators emerge. I also plan to edit game tapes later. I started with this USB drive, but I want to continue editing games on tape. If you think this could be interesting, I invite you to participate, with the game or games you want, or with a demo, no problem. As I said, this isn’t about making a USB drive loaded with games and that’s it. Besides, there’s no problem with the games you let me use being in other compilations or edited on tape. Whoever wants a tape, buys it anyway. the game on USB or direct download, don’t you think?

Hello!! Sorry for the intrusion, hehehe. My name is Felipe, and until recently, I have been editing games for the Spectrum on cassette. Due to personal and work reasons, I’m going to stop editing, and I'm saying goodbye with a compilation of homebrew games for The Spectrum on USB. I want it to be the best and most complete compilation of homebrew games that has ever been made. It will be a non-profit edition, just to provide users of The Spectrum with a pack to spend hours and hours in front of their ZX. I’ve seen some of your games on http://Itch.io and wanted to ask if you would be interested in contributing any of your ZX games to this compilation. I already have legendary creators from the scene on board, but I’d also like to reach out to you. It can be one game, two, or as many as you want, in .TAP format. Even simply granting me permission and letting me know which games I could include would be enough, and I can download them from http://Itch.io. We have created a system where the games will be encrypted, and no one will be able to use them digitally; they will only be playable on their The Spectrum, Divide, or computer. My email is playonretro@gmail.com. Best regards, and thank you very much

I'll send you an email, thanks.

Many thanks!

Many thanks for this, here is my tribute to your game.  A subscribe from anyone viewing would also be most welcome.

Cool review, thanks mate!

Cool! Thx for work!

Many thanks.

Got a walkthrough up here. Didn't think I'd complete it when I first started, but it came together sooner than I thought :)

A complete walkthrough, thanks!

Such a shame that Andy never got to see the completion of his 8-Bit Wars project. Loved his last films, and have read some of his books. The game start screen is a great image of Andy. I am here after seeing TJ Ferreira's video, and I look forward to playing. Cheers

Thanks mate, enjoy the game.

very good

Thanks Marco.

Nice game!

Thanks mate!

Thanks TJ, it's always a pleasure to watch your reviews! Oh by the way, I've just updated the instructions with the "balster" to "blaster" fix :-)
